While GROVE the project is dedicated to Bill, the oak trees we planted in GROVE are specifically dedicated to the children of Philadelphia on Bill's behalf. These children's children will be the ones to see these oaks mature. March 15th, the day of planting was well-represented by the very young. If you are new to GROVE, welcome. GROVE was and is a many part project about trees; real oak trees and real paper trees. GROVE was a Philadelphia art project filmed in the Wissahickon; a philly FRINGE installation event located at the Media Bureau in Northern Liberties; and GROVE: Breakdown a show of images in February at the Abington Art Center. GROVE happened where a community of people care enough to become stewards of their local park, Carpenter's Woods. This is where GROVE lives now in its present form of live oak trees, restoring a small patch of forest while reversing the cycle of trees to paper.
